I would name her Daisy. She has a little poodle in her, so she wouldn't mess with the fiance's allergies (even though he doesn't believe me that there is such a thing as a hypoallergenic dog). Please???

The Wanderer

I complain and complain about the amount of travel that I have to do. I'm tired of airports...blah blah...I don't want any more damn peanuts...blah blah...I miss my boy and cats...blah blah. But now that I am here in town for a month, I feel twitchy and ready to get on another plane. It's not that I want to leave really. It's not that I have SO much fun when I am away. I guess I am just so used to it now that it feels wierd when I'm not doing it. I just made an outline of probable travel in the next year:

August 2005-Seattle
September 2005-Lincoln, Mexico
October 2005-Dallas
November 2005-Somewhere for Thanksgiving?
December 2005-Probably Lincoln for Christmas
January 2006-Austin, Denver
March 2006- New Zealand
April 2006- Austin, D.C.
May 2006- Montana, Lincoln
June 2006- D.C.
September 2006- Argentina, D.C.

So it's not like I have a blank slate or anything. I am just not used to being in one place for this long. Who knew that this would ever happen?

Ants Marching

Across my feet. My office is once again, infested. I feel like I am going crazy, and I have even started imagining ants crawling on me when they are not.

In other news...only 5 weeks until the wedding! Yay! This is what my ring will look like. I love love love it. If you read this and are invited and you have not sent in your RSVP card, get off your ass and send it in. Hearing the updated list of those who have responded is the highlight of my day.

Internal office politics suck.

Soooo much school work to do. Why did I think that I wanted to be back in school? I can't even use the letters MPA behind my name without looking stupid and vain. I should have been a doctor like Court. MD looks cool.

Off to happy hour. Must chug gigantic martini immediately.

Not Hot for Teacher Anymore

Not since he facilitated a class discussion on legalizing torture for child molestors. I raised my hand and asked if anyone was considering what our Consitution says about cruel and unusual punishment. He acually had the nerve to say, "the Constitution is a living document, and maybe it's time to make that change". Evil.

How Jealous Are You?

This week in Wyoming, I live in a log cabin. On the way here from the airport, we had to stop for a few minutes to let a herd of bison cross the road. This morning a deer was frolicking outside my window. Last night there were so many stars out that the sky looked more white than black. Even people from Colorado and Montana said that they have never seen anything like it.

10 Random Musings

1. Coworker L got engaged on the 4th of July. They were at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. watching the fireworks. There happened to be a Post photographer behind them, covering the fireworks. They made the front page of the Post yesterday. Nice engagement announcement. I told the fiance that he should arrange something like that soon.

2. Got back from the LNC on Tuesday. Good times. BBQ, beer and blowing stuff up. Nothing says patriotism like a bottle rocket tower.

3. Leaving on Sunday for Wyoming. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It will be breathtakingly beautiful, but at this point, if I never sit in another airplane, I won't be sad.

4. Speaking of airplanes, I got to fly first class to and from LNC. I don't know how I can ever go back to coach.

5. My office has ants.

6. Brenna is a stripper. That's right Brenna. Stripper. Lesbian tomboy. Stripper. It freaked me out. I saw her boobs.

7. Going to see Wicked tomorrow night. Very excited. I can relate to the Wicked Witch of the West. Except for the green skin part. And the water allergy.

8. Public Budgeting class starts on Saturday. Taking 2 classes at a time this summer is going to be less than fun.

9. There are only 58 days until my wedding. I have not spent more than 20 awake minutes with my fiance in 15 days.

10) He wants to name our firstborn son Patrick Henry. I may carry a constitution around in my purse, but I am NOT that patriotic.
